The Southern Nevada Water Authority is a government agency founded in 1991 to manage Southern Nevada's water needs on a regional bases. SNWA provides wholesale water treatment and delivery for the greater Las Vegas Valley and is responsible for acquiring and managing long-term water resources for Southern Nevada.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern Calfornia serves 26 public water agencies - cities, municipal water districts, and one county water authority - that then deliver supplies directly or indirectly to nearly 19 million people in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura counties.
