On Aug. 16, WaterStart Executive Director Nathan Allen was featured as a guest expert at a summit hosted by The Innovation Incubator (IN2) program in Golden, Colorado. IN2 is a unique and innovative technology incubation program funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) focused on supporting clean energy related startups.
As it looks to expand the program into additional verticals, including residential, transportation and sustainable agriculture / food energy water nexus, the goal of the summit is to share knowledge in order to better inform the IN2 program direction going forward.
Allen was invited to be a part of a group of subject matter experts and lead breakout discussions throughout the day with IN2 stakeholders to identify challenges, trends and opportunities within the space of the food energy water nexus. Breakout sessions were divided in two sessions first focused on the “problem” then on “opportunities.” Other experts alongside Allen included EPA Director of Environmental Technology Innovation Cluster Development and Support Program Sally Gutierrez, as well as Water Foundry Founder and CEO Will Sarni.
IN2 ecosystem stakeholders participating in the summit include:
- IN2 Portfolio Companies
- Channel Partners (incubators, accelerators and universities)
- Industry experts
