WaterStart member is seeking a predictive analysis solution that can integrate, monitor, and optimize treatment processes across multiple facilities of the world’s largest water recycling programs. The AI-preferred solution will need to demonstrate capabilities to integrate with domestic, wastewater, and water reuse facilities to monitor, trend, and forecast changes in water quality parameters for compliance, operational optimization, and maintenance. The proposed AI technology shall be compatible with existing control and monitoring platform and reliably support operators in achieving stringent water quality requirements. The findings, recommendations, and performance requirements will likely be included in full-scale program development criteria for one of the world’s largest water recycling programs.

Brine management solutions for minimizing environmental impact and realize opportunities for resource recovery.

As part of a 5-year plan to optimize nitrate removal assets, a WaterStart member is exploring solutions for brine management which focuses on sustainable methods for brine reuse, resource recovery, and minimizes environmental impact. Solutions should aim to create circularity by utilising technologies that transform brine into valuable by-products, promote efficient water and resource utilization, and reduce overall waste generation

Screening and disinfection of wet weather discharge in the sewer network

Pockets of intense rainfall are common in South-East Queensland, triggering the activation of relief structures under conditions where waterways are not freely flowing.

WaterStart member is seeking a technology to manage the high-rate flows caused by large rain events. The sought solution would ideally filter small and large discharge and minimise pathogen without compromising the effective operation of the network relief structures.

Solutions for managing obstructions to sewer pumping facilities servicing small public restrooms

WaterStart member operates multiple small sewer lift stations that get clogged with various debris: clothing articles, rags, flushable wipes, etc. that overwhelms the existing 5hp chopper pumps sized for the facility footprint. To address this challenge, the member seeks preventative technology to eliminate the closure of public beach bathrooms, reduce repair costs and labor costs, and prevent sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) events.
